Fig Newton takes some of the most defining moments in the early relationship between Daniel and Teal’c and, within the frame of the end of FIAD, walks us movingly and mercilessly through a set of what-ifs and if-onlys. What if Teal’c had chosen to betray Apophis on Abydos instead of Chulak? What if Daniel had refused to destroy the Hammer? In a maze of dreams and almost-memories, an unconscious Daniel and a meditating Teal’c test the idea that the universe is unfolding as it should.
