Why This Must Be Read: I mentioned in a previous rec that I don't follow House. I don't follow SGA, either, but this ficlet made me laugh and laugh and laugh.

Written by the always marvelous Tallulah Rasa, Unfinished Business plunges us into the middle of a recruiting session, as SG-1, Sheppard, and McKay try to convince House to join the SGC. The dialogue is fast and furious and insanely funny, including competing death counts, gunshot wounds, and personality quirks. By the time the dust settles, you'll be wiping tears from your eyes and regretting that Tallulah Rasa has titled this Unfinished Business because it's a snippet of a larger work that she feels she will never complete. But knowing that there could have been more of this delightful story doesn't take away from how very wonderfully it stands, as is, on its own!

"So he's like McKay," the laconic one, a Colonel Sheppard, said to no one in particular.

"But I can think of several people who wouldn't mind killing him," Cuddy added.

"A lot like McKay," Sheppard said.

"Seriously," Wilson said, trying to get their guests to see the gravity of the situation. "He's been shot."

The military types nodded. "Who hasn't?" O'Neill said.

"That could be a plus in our line of work," Carter noted.

"I've wanted to shoot him," Wilson admitted.

"A lot like McKay. Really a lot," Sheppard said , while Carter gave O'Neill a look Wilson couldn't read.

"I only shot Daniel once," O'Neill said defensively.

Perfect House! I adore him because he's so rude and nasty and prickly. He'd fit perfectly in the Stargate universe.
And you know he only agreed on the off chance he'd get to see Daniel's scar.
Well done.

Oh, very cute! It would be rather interesting to watch House meet the SGC...for one thing, he'd have to get used to not always being the smartest guy in the room.

I wouldn't be so sure about House not being the smartest cookie in the bunch. He would vie with O'Neill for wily. His concentration skills would rival Daniel's, but House would come to a conclusion more rapidly. McKay is actually more annoying than House, so he wins THAT competition. Carter has put up with O'Neill for years, but House steps over a line that she wouldn't be able to handle. We saw how Sam responded when McKay said, "I like dumb blondes." So I think House would send her racing from the room. Shepard would stand back with his arms crossed to observe the fun. Fraiser would challenge him and probably love the stiff competition. Hammond would have him shot for insubordination.

The author really had the characters down pat. I hope she does finish it. I only started watching House because so many SG1 fans watch House.

Hi! Friendly tagger here - I'm afraid LJ won't let me tag your entry at the moment due to some coding. This is the error I'm getting: [Error: BML block 'XML' has no close]

If you could please fix this (as I have no clue about xml), I'll get your entry's tagging done pronto! :)
