Rec Category: Crossover

Categories: crossover, gen, humor, Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson, Teal'c, John Sheppard, Rodney McKay
Warnings: crossover with House, M.D. and SGA
Author on LJ: unknown
Author's Website: To Explore the Universe and Eat Pie
Link: Unfinished Business
Why This Must Be Read: I mentioned in a previous rec that I don't follow House. I don't follow SGA, either, but this ficlet made me laugh and laugh and laugh.
Written by the always marvelous Tallulah Rasa, Unfinished Business plunges us into the middle of a recruiting session, as SG-1, Sheppard, and McKay try to convince House to join the SGC. The dialogue is fast and furious and insanely funny, including competing death counts, gunshot wounds, and personality quirks. By the time the dust settles, you'll be wiping tears from your eyes and regretting that Tallulah Rasa has titled this Unfinished Business because it's a snippet of a larger work that she feels she will never complete. But knowing that there could have been more of this delightful story doesn't take away from how very wonderfully it stands, as is, on its own!
"So he's like McKay," the laconic one, a Colonel Sheppard, said to no one in particular.
"But I can think of several people who wouldn't mind killing him," Cuddy added.
"A lot like McKay," Sheppard said.
"Seriously," Wilson said, trying to get their guests to see the gravity of the situation. "He's been shot."
The military types nodded. "Who hasn't?" O'Neill said.
"That could be a plus in our line of work," Carter noted.
"I've wanted to shoot him," Wilson admitted.
"A lot like McKay. Really a lot," Sheppard said , while Carter gave O'Neill a look Wilson couldn't read.
"I only shot Daniel once," O'Neill said defensively.

Date: 2008-04-09 11:55 pm (UTC)The author really had the characters down pat. I hope she does finish it. I only started watching House because so many SG1 fans watch House.

Date: 2008-04-13 01:07 pm (UTC)In this case, it crept into the snippet I cut and pasted from the fic itself. ARGH.
To make a long reply short: sorry for the trouble! And it's all fixed now. :)
