Why This Must Be Read: This is a rather long story set around season 5, where Daniel finds himself doing less and less archeology and more and more military missions. He decides to do something about it.  The author takes us through Daniel's feelings and the toll it takes on his relationship with Jack, and Jack's reaction is just so... Jack. So, perfect characterization and great plot. I love it, and hope you do too. ; )
