Why This Must Be Read: Gail has a way of ripping out your heart with her stories. She weaves her stories effortlessly and believably through eps we've seen and gives us just a little *more*. Her characterizations are right on for everyone and you feel like you're watching an ep. She is one of the very few writers who can actually make me cry. This story is her way of showing why Kerry gave Jack up and how Jack and Sam see they belong together. There HAD to be more than we saw.

Synopsis: Sam is too strong to let the enemy take over her mind, but she's not strong enouogh to do it alone.

Jack stood at the foot of Sam’s bed, watching her fitful sleep.  Even with the double dose of sedative and sleeping *stuff*, she wasn’t resting.  Every few moments, mumbled words passed her lips so low he couldn’t understand them and she would jerk against the restraints the doctor had applied. 

Three hours.  She had been like this for three hours.  Jack ground his teeth together until pain shot from his jaw. 

He knew something was wrong.

Why didn’t he do something sooner?
