Why This Must Be Read:
Because there might be someone new to the fandom who hasn't stumbled across ELG's wonderful gen and slash fics yet. In stark contrast to my last rec, this story is filled with angst, angst and more angst. It also contains a real plot, and all that angst ties in to it, rather than just being gratuitously heaped on our long-suffering characters. It's definitely worth checking out this well-written examination of what keeps Jack and Daniel going, both as individuals, and as friends.
