Warning: none

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is melancholy and poignant i n its aspect. Here we see Daniel about 5 years in the future. He lives a life of quiet solitude while he is home on Earth, though he is still active in the SG program. The author demonstrates a maturity of thought as she weaves the story of how tired and soul weary Daniel is as the holidays approach. This is a man that is 45 years old and does not have a family, or a hold on anyone. He packs his bags and heads out to see Jack….and in this meeting of two old friends we see something warm and loving although not overly wrought by the author. It is gorgeous in its intent and desperate in its fire. There is promise of something more but the author does not give it to you, she lets you decide where it might go. Beautiful.
