Why This Must Be Read:
The companion piece to
30toseoul's Brownian Motion and Secondary Motion (those should be read first) told from the alternate reality John's POV.
Ow, painful in the best possible way.
apple_pi tells what the other John is going through and does it fantastically well. I feel so bad for this John!
The first odd thing John noticed was when he opened his eyes and found himself sprawled flat on his back with his head on something flat and kind of soft but not really - like a folded up jacket. Teyla was kneeling over him, looking concerned, and John blinked up at her. "Hey," he said, "what - ?"
Rodney was jabbering nervously about strange energy readings from the glass device in the wall, and he and Teyla hauled John quickly to his feet and hustled him out of the half-crumbled building. Ronon stalked along behind them, gun ready, and John still kind of felt muddle-headed, but when he went to lean on Rodney, Rodney's look of confusion was so off-putting that John straightened again. "What?" Rodney said.
"I dunno, just felt like leaning, I guess," John mumbled, and Rodney looked anxiously at Teyla. "Let's get him to Carson."
