Why This Must Be Read:
One of the things about relationship fic is how rarely there are unhappy endings. And where endings are unhappy, they tend to be of the character death, events beyond a character's control type. But relationships aren't like that - sometimes you put your heart on the line and fail.
That's what happens here, and Spubba tells it well - those little heartbreaks that add up to something more than Zelenka can bear.
