Why This Must Be Read: It made me cry. Pure and simple. This is a wonderfully written and desperately painful exchange of emotions between Carson and Daniel. You read it, believing that Carson was in the Stargate Universe at this time. The fic plays on the subtle subtext that we see onscreen between Janet/Daniel, yet turns this around into a beautiful piece of writing centring around Carson and his vow to look after Janet.
