While SG-1 is exploring a deserted transport station, Daniel Jackson mysteriously disappears and finds himself on a planet that resembles ancient Rome but whose inhabitants are hiding a deadly secret. No one is who or what they seem. Will Jackson escape and find his way home before time runs out?
Why This Must Be Read:
This story was originally broken down into two parts: "Faces" and "Unity".
The story is very well written and has an interesting sad and somewhat happy ending. Daniel disappears on a mission and finds himself on a planet where a Goa'uld lord was conducting experiments on the inhabitants. He becomes trapped but soon escapes with no memory of what happened to him while there. On another mission SG-1 finds a woman who leads Daniel on the path back to remembering what was taken from him. He also discovers more happened on that planet then he realized...
The story is both interesting and intense. It draws you in and holds your attention throughout. It's a very good story written by an author I am unfamiliar with. I found the story to be very enjoyable and well worth reading.
