Why This Must Be Read: Author's Summary: For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, Jack is down a cliff.

First off, for those who might care, I just want to mention that while Jack and Daniel are in an obviously caring and established slash relationship in this story, there's no sex here - just some reference to that relationship - and, while that interpersonal 'caring' part is a major thing throughout, as far as I'm concerned this is basically a gen action h/c drama story (despite the traditional requirement for a 'slash' label ... I sure wish there was such a thing as a 'gen slash' label).

When Jack falls into peril, Daniel is the only one available to help. The situation is life-threatening, plus it's getting dark out and the weather sucks. There's action, hurt/ comfort, wonderfully written characterisations, hints of an interesting off-world culture, great Jack dialogue, and a very well-rounded competent Daniel. In short, what I like about this fic: well, pretty much everything.

“You won’t get any arguments from me,” Jack said, glaring down at the pile of fabric. “You’re the most obtuse genius that I’ve ever met. Well, there are days when you and Carter tie.”
