Why This Must Be Read: The usual annoying Ancient device sends Rodney back into his 15 year old body in the past (and to the horrors of his teens), but with his adult consciousness. John's not going to leave him behind back in the past, but in following Rodney, John has to confront his own painful and difficult adolescence. It's wonderfully written, exploring their characters and backstories as they're forced to confront past issues and, hopefully, resolve them.
Summary: It's not about changing the past. It's about letting the past change you.
