Why This Must Be Read: In terms of grieving over "Meridian," this fic is a must read. After Daniel's untimely Ascension, Jack starts receiving wreaths. He's not sure why until he not only does research, but talks to Jonas Quinn. Once Jack figures it all out, it's only a matter of time until he reaches a satisfying conclusion.
One of my favorite things about this fic is it shows real character growth as Jack comes to terms with reality, including but not limited to Daniel's absence and Jonas's presence. Also, in a fic that is predominantly about grief, it is oh so very hopeful.
It appears again the very next morning on Jack's front porch, and he almost trips over it on his way out the door. It convinces him that they've been for him, but that only brings more questions. Who's sending them, and why? And what are they made of, anyway? He picks up the wreath and takes it with him, dumping it on the passenger seat while he drives to the mountain and sneaking it into the complex under his coat. For some reason, he doesn't want everyone to see it.
