Shows: SGA
Rec Category: Minor characters
Characters: Laura Cadman, Biro, Miko Kusanagi, Original female characters, Elizabeth Weir
Categories: Gen
Words: 5774
Warnings: Author chose not to warn. Non-graphic depiction of the enslavement of women to be breeding stock. Canon-typical violence.
Author on DW: n/a
Author's Website: Kajikia on AO3
Link: Strength and honor are her clothing on AO3
Why This Must Be Read: A raiding party off-world takes only Miko and Lieutenant Grace Crown, leaving the men. The rescue plan means that Laura, Biro, and Teyla will be deliberately sold into slavery to get them back - Elizabeth has concerns, but Cadman reminds her that they leave no women behind, either. Then the back-up plan collapses, leaving them on their own. An excellent action/adventure story of women rescuing themselves, with Cadman, as leader, and Miko, the gene-holder, especially kicking ass (plus Teyla, but that goes without saying!) Great writing - an entertaining read that deserves to be far better known.
