Why This Must Be Read: This is one of the best Teyla/Kate stories out there, giving depth to Teyla and her responsibilities and connections as Kate and Teyla's relationship grows, and Teyla's relationship with her dead mother is explored, instead of just Teyla's father. The strangeness of the Pegasus galaxy comes into play, and not everything is explained perfectly. It's great thatdanversesque leaves some mystery instead of dumping every explanation into "it's the Ancients." The relationship is the important focus anyway. Elizabeth and Laura also have good-sized roles that show off their skills, Lorne is here (always great), and John, Rodney and Ronon are...oh boy, is their characterization spot-on.
The short-ish version: Teyla's team gets in trouble with Pegasus Amazons, and the women plus Lorne have to get them out. Plus Teyla/Kate happens, Kate's the reincarnation of an Ancient goddess, and the ghost of Teyla's mom is the Greek chorus to Teyla's relationship. No, seriously. It's great. I love this story. It's one of the best femslash stories in SGA fandom. It's almost 23k. It reads kind of Xena-esque, only it's Stargate.
The short, short version: It's amazing. You should just trust me and read it.
