Why This Must Be Read: This riffs off the SG1 episode Absolute Power, in an AU universe where Daniel reigns as supreme dictator of Earth and has forced Rodney to work for him. Rodney tries not to be a bad person but is forced to do bad things and is generally reviled and regarded as Daniel's right-hand man. In the story, Daniel tortures John then gifts him to Rodney as a sex slave, although Rodney manages to conceal that he's not using John sexually until the relationship between them becomes consensual. But no one's being entirely honest about their plans and motives, and in Daniel's dictatorship, no one's safe. A gripping and entertaining read, and there's a sequel as well, Terra Atlantis.
