Lost and Found, by Caprice
Show: SG-1
Rec Category: Daniel Jackson
Characters: Daniel Jackson, Jack O'Neill (plus a guest-star Goa'uld)
Pairings: Story is Gen, but some might consider it as J/D pre-slash
Categories: Gen; Action/Adventure; Jack & Daniel Friendship; Episode AU
Warnings: None, really (just non-explicit mention of nudity)
Author's Journal: unknown
Author's Website: Caprice, on AO3
Link: Lost and Found
Why This Must Be Read: This is a wonderful, fun story. The author indicates it's an AU for the episode 'Paradise Lost', but imo it's more an original story that simply uses the Paradise Lost archway concept as a jumping- off point. Once our heroes are through the archway, it's a 100% all-fresh-and-new friendship and adventure story. In the early bits, there's some (quickly dealt with) focus on Daniel's sense of isolation from his team, and a tidge of sentimentality as Jack confesses to how Daniel's past death(s) affected him ... and along with that close personal friendship theme continuing throughout the story, it then evolves into a pretty darned entertaining adventure, with a deftly written comedic touch. And some of the visuals it provokes are outstanding, lol.
