Show: SGA
Rec Category: Drama!
Characters: Rodney McKay/John Sheppard, Carson Beckett, Teyla Emmagan, Ronon Dex, Elizabeth Weir, Radek Zelenka
Categories: Sheppard/McKay (platonic)
Warnings: No AO3 warnings apply. I give it an M rating for graphic violence and descriptions of illness and medical procedures.
Author on DW: n/a
Author's Website: Here on Wayback (Area 52) and on AO3
Link: Part 1 of Salt of the Earth on the Wayback Machine - follow the links at the base for parts 2 and 3.
Why This Must Be Read: This is probably Dasha's best known McShep story, and deservedly so. There are 3 parts - In Dark Places, Worse Things Than Love, and Something at the End of the Tunnel. In this Rodney's attacked off-world and nearly killed, so there's lots of whumped Rodney and hurt/comfort, with John and Rodney's relationship being tested in the crucible of suffering and recovery. It was reccd here many years ago but the links these days are only at the Wayback Machine so I thought I'd refresh the rec with those. Icarus did an excellent rec for this fic in 2006, so here's a link to that - it's expressed far better than I can manage. Again, this is an older fic and uses asterisks to show italics.
