Why This Must Be Read:Might as well start my recs off with a classic. This fic is not for the faint of heart; horrible things happen to people in this fic but it was the first fic that I read in this poly ship and the care that John, Rodney and Carson held for each other sticks in my mind so much more than the bad things that happen to them.

One of the very best things about this fic is that it doesn't end with the rescue, it goes on to look at what happens after the rescue and how people heal and move on and come back from the well.

A classic for a reason.
