Why This Must Be Read: I was reading a post on tumblr earlier, about how fanfic writers don't objectify characters in the way porn does, they subjectify them - they take complex pre-existing friendship relationships and add an erotic element. This story contains a brief sexual interlude between John and Teyla, but it's really about friendship, and emotional hurt/comfort. An "extra" - part of the Retrograde series.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a lovely hurt/comfort story of a good length, where Rodney's seriously injured on a mission and in order to avoid being shipped back to the SGC, his team help him go to the Athosians to recuperate. There's lots of character development and teamy goodness, and as he recovers, Rodney and Teyla become close. A very satisfying read.
