Eclipse, by Jedi Buttercup
Mar. 19th, 2018 05:08 pmShow: SG-1
Rec Category: Off-World Action/Adventure
Characters: Jack O'Neill, Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, Teal'c, plus a guest appearance by Jacob Carter / Selmac
Categories: GEN, Action/adventure
Warnings: None
Author's Journal: unknown
Author's Website: [Jedi Buttercup, on AO3]
Link: [Eclipse]
Why This Must Be Read: The author has tagged this, on AO3, as being an AU-Fusion with 'Pitch Black', however, no, you don't find Riddick here. Nor do you find the brutal and explicit violence of the film ... rather, what you do find here is a very well rendered SG-1 deposited onto Pitch Black's stark alien world, from which their escape is hampered by the presence of hostile Jaffa.
This story is an altogether plausible and captivating graft: the author has seamlessly dovetailed SG-1 with the borrowed setting (which is artfully depicted), and the result is a tightly-written, suspenseful adventure story. Imo, really really well done.
