Why This Must Be Read: So sue me, I am a total sucker for Domesticity in Space... and there aren't nearly enough about how Our Heroes actually adapted to life in this alien city (or, umm, didn't :) Domenica's stories tend to focus on the military aspects of the expedition, and by making the all too plausible assumption that the Marines were handed the job of feeding themselves and their scientific charges, she weaves a simple, not laugh-out-loud but drily humorous and quite endearing look at one of those domestic aspects that I love so much... and her John is simply wonderful :)
