Why This Must Be Read: This is an unusual Earth-based AU where John and Evan and other familiar characters are all part of a traveling carnival. John's on display as the "bug boy". He can't speak but he communicates pretty well in other ways. The story's got a real Ray Bradbury feel to it and the relationship between Evan and John is sweet and hot. Interesting and haunting.

Why this must be read: This fic is hot off the presses, and I literally just finished reading it. Now I think EVERYONE needs to read it. It’s so good! Rodney is a writer with a secret who has done a house swap for the holidays, only to find himself with an unexpected housemate. The characters are spot on, the story is riveting, and I was on the edge of my seat to see how it all worked out in the end. I was NOT disappointed! And you won’t be either.
