Why This Must Be Read: Jb is a pretty solid choice for a good SG-1 story, although this story is quite a bit different from any of the others I've read from them. It starts with a quiet day at Jack's cottage with Daniel attempting to master the art of wasting time. It should be quiet and calm, peaceful. And yet it's not, but without actually being able to put a finger on what it is that's wrong, you nevertheless feel the underlying tension within the words, the atmosphere Jb creates. Something is clearly bothering Daniel, but the clues aren't obvious except in retrospect. This story is skin-crawlingly creepy and masterfully written with some lovely interactions between Sam and Daniel.

Author's summary: A nasty surprise haunts Daniel. Sam is there for him -- eventually.
