Why This Must Be Read: This is an oldie but definitely a goodie - one of my all-time favorite S/J fics! The pacing is nearly perfect: from the opening mission scenes to the confirmation of reciprocal feelings, shinysilvergrl provides great tension throughout. Sometimes I have to remind myself that this isn't an episode transcript - the dialog and characterization are spot on for everyone, including Hammond, and the teamy-ness of SG-1 in this fic is lovely. The inferences shinysilvergrl makes from DaC and BtS are fabulous, as she gets the reader (and Sam and Jack!) thinking about what was really meant by those looks behind physical/psychological/regulatory barriers.
