Why This Must Be Read: This is a long, slow building, wonderful story about how Jack O'Neill begins to see Freya and then also Anise as persons, and not just a host and a snake. He goes through a long development, as he begins to see the difference between the Tok'ra and the Goa'uld, and also work his way through the experiences he had as host to Kanan, and as prisoner of Ba'al. The story is at times angsty, sometimes very much so, but always very very good. Read this - both for the study of Jack O'Neill, and for an interesting look at an unusual pairing/threesome.
