Why This Must Be Read:
First, it's the rare kind of story that actually adresses the problems they must have had with the dwindling supplies and limited ressources in this first year when they were cut off from Earth.
Second, it has one of the best sci-fi plots I've ever read and the team takes center stage.

It's also the first story of a series called "Salt on a Wound" though it can easily read as a standalone story (as can the following stories as well).

I'm going to rec the connected stories separately since they revolve around different plots - and therefore my reason for reccing them is different - and develop into McShep-slash later on.

Why this should be read: If nothing else, it should be read for the highly unusual pairing! It is quite fun to see the reactions from everyone around Sam and Delek - Delek is not exactly the most popular Tok'ra (though he is good looking...) There is some nice internal discussions between hosts and symbiote as well, and I love those :)
