Why This Must Be Read: Salieri writes fabulous crossovers. One of my favorites is this 26,000-word alternate universe crossover with The Matrix. Instead of being team members at the SGC, Jack and Daniel bring their competence to running one of the ships rebelling again the machines and rescuing people from the matrix. Their latest assignment is to rescue a brilliant analyst from the matrix before Agent Maybourne gets to her.

Salieri creatively weaves Stargate characters in and builds a plot that fits the Matrix universe (with a touch of Stargate), while developing her own original touches for it. (It's probably best if you've seen at least the first, and maybe second Matrix movies, otherwise you'll get spoiled for certain aspects of them.)
