Why this must be read:

I've always been intrigued by dark!John. As evidenced in canon, John is willing to do some dang scary things to protect those important to him and his city. This fic just illustrates that spectacularly by giving us five perspectives of people that came close to death but escaped by the skin of their teeth. John goes darkside while rescuing a tortured and critically injured McKay; he doesn't hesitate to kill indiscriminately and threaten one and all for Rodney. Sardonicsmiley's journey into John's shadowed and protective mind made me shiver a bit and thank my lucky stars that I hadn't kidnapped Rodney...

Story Summary: The boys get kidnapped, John gets them out. Told by five people he doesn't kill in the process.
