Why this must be read: People on my f-list will have seen this one already, as I recommended it on my LJ a few weeks ago. However, I feel like it deserves even more promotion. missparker is new to SG-1 (only watching since September), and I'm really impressed with how well she gets these two characters. Even beyond the UST, this is a great Sam-piece - a very believable Sam perspective as she takes stock of her personal relationships with Jack, Cassie, Daniel, Teal'c, and Pete.

Summary: Set in S7, after "Heroes," where Sam and Jack just aren't connecting like they used to, but maybe some time on the disabled list for both of them and a shared Christmas will help thaw things out.

Why this must be read:
This is a wonderful tag to "The Ark". Ronon needs to reassure himself that his team is safe, but reaching out is not easy, especially with McKay. The fic has a great Ronon voice, a very team-y feel and bonding through food.

He and McKay stood together in the puddlejumper, waiting for word. For the first time in years, Ronon felt the need to reach out to another person simply for the comfort of touch, because he was afraid, because he knew McKay was afraid, and a hand on a shoulder or foreheads pressed together would have anchored them both. Half their world was on that deathtrap of a shuttle, threatening to burn up in the atmosphere of an uninhabited world and leave the other half behind.

Why This Must Be Read: This lovely, thoughtful fic repairs one of the most egregious flaws of Unending: the inexplicable suicide of the Asgard. It also gives us Thor and Loki, some marvelous Asgard POV on what it really means to be the Fifth Race, and a fascinating exploration of Asgard motivation and hopes. Read this one and savor!

Why this must be read: This is a delightful Christmas addition to the already greatly admired A Farm in Iowa 'verse. Basically does what it says on the tin, the fic is the collected Letters to Santa from Rodney and John and from Finn and Meredith, their children in the 'verse. ADORABLE fic and one I would highly recommend reading, and highly discourage reading whilst ingesting anything that might hurt coming out of your nose!
