Now here's a very powerful 230 word fic that summarizes the "new" Daniel by Season 8. After years of shooting at other sentient beings and fighting for his teammate's lives, Daniel has become a man who doesn't hesitate when those he cares for are in danger. He comes in shooting and asks questions later. I love how this fic just ghosts on how this harder take on killing has changed Daniel; there are even aspects that Jack, past Black Ops Jack, doesn't want to talk about. Em Dash has become my go to gal for short, yet incredibly potent, fics. And she doesn't disappoint here!!

Why This Must Be Read:

Rodney's 'failure' at piano lessons has always been a favorite piece of canon for me. In my opinion, his confession/apology to Sam Carter did a lot to redeem an unpleasant character and provided fodder for some lovely stories. In this example, after John hears the story and later nearly loses Rodney, he initiates Operation Piano Man. A sweet story of discovery and cooperation, it always leaves me with a smile.

Why this must be read: A short missing scene from Lost City, this story is from Teal'c's POV as he watches Jack reworking the transporter rings prior to arriving back on Earth. This story is just perfection as Teal'c thinks about Jack and his own life and how it's almost over.
