Why This Must Be Read: This story was actually just posted for the cm_tropefic ficathon and I had to instantly jump and rec it once I finished reading and caught my breath.

One of the things that I've always loved about Cam Mitchell was his stubbornness, his tenacity and love of life and doing what is right as he moves forward to do what needs to be done. And this story captures that tenacity and you really can't help but be awed by it until the very end of the story.

Why This Must Be Read: In a fic that takes place around Elizabeth Weir's first appearance on SG-1, New Order, this fic does a clever way of exploring the relationship between Jack and Elizabeth. There's always been, canon-wise, a sense of mutual admiration and a touch of friendship between Elizabeth and Jack. This fic takes that and pushes it into a nice "friends with benefits" angle, where there's really absurdly hot sex (writtin by LittleRed, it's no surprise), and yet, it remains true to their characters. Jack's POV is spot-on in this, as it also explores his snarkiness and how this entanglement with Elizabeth would look to the rest of the SG-1 members.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is surprisingly deep for a crossover between two such light-hearted shows. There's actually a lot of crossovers with SGA where Elizabeth stars front and center; her fans are awesome writers like that. This one, in particular, I love. I came in expecting something different, something lighthearted perhaps? But I was moved by the way this story moved. Castle's POV shows that same caring, funny guy that we know, and his interest in an old friend and her sudden change in demeanor is of course a very Castle-thing to do. But the thing I love about this is the subtlety of the narration, the quiet acknowledgment of Elizabeth's change, and how Castle's interest in solving this mystery is part-writer, part-friend. And the Castle/Elizabeth friendship is wonderfully highlighted in a unique way, and one that of course compliments the Castle/Beckett and Sheppard/Weir shippy tones well.

I really recommend this a lot.

Why This Must Be Read:

An alien ritual goes wrong because the Ancients forgot to clean up after themselves again, so Rodney takes care of that for them, and the universe will never be the same. I love the slow reveal in this story, along with the subtle horror, that leads to a very satisfying and fitting ending.

Why this must be read:

Oh clone!Jack, how thee were forgotten in canon.... Thank goodness slashy fanfic writers remember you! This is a neat look at what Jack's clone might have done with his second chance at life. He learns from Jack's errors and choices to forge a successful business and new identity. Then enter, Daniel Jackson, a bit older, a little bitter, and the best thing of all, available. :) Catspaw weaves a very sweet meet up and get together for these two when Daniel comes to Chicago on a research trip and bumps into clone!Jack. With this younger and slightly different Jack, Daniel is given another opportunity at happiness. And oh how good these two are together! After reading the epilogue, every reader will wish original Jack would have had this opportunity at love.
