Why This Must Be Read: This one hurts on so many levels: Daniel so cold, Jack so alien to the Jack that Daniel once knew, Teal'c and Sam so beyond help. It's horrifying to contemplate such an ending for the alternate team... and even more horrifying to contemplate that yes, Moebius could turn Daniel into someone like this.

Katep nodded. As he turned to leave, he had a thought, turned, and said, "It is a pity that your friends were not returned with their original souls. The gods must have been in a hurry. Perhaps next time, they will do better."
"Perhaps," Daniel said.
