Why this must be read:

This is a fascinating look at Daniel’s journey through the Quantum Mirror, on the search for a new home after his world is conquered by the Goa'uld and his lover killed. What makes this fic so angsty is the increasing desperation Daniel feels as each successive world proves unsuitable; each world is either also conquered by the Goa’uld, already has a Daniel, or had Jack in another relationship already. And that’s a stipulation this Daniel has laid on any future home; he doesn’t just want a home. He wants a free Jack he can love and who can love him back.

There are moments in Imagine’s story that the reader can just feel Daniel’s hoplessness. There are several moments where Daniel contemplates ending all the searching and the pain. Thankfully, by the end of the trilogy, Daniel has found “his” Jack who he can live happily with and love. The reader will find the journey, though, oh so hard.
