Why This Must Be Read:

This is a great missing scene from "Rising, Part 1" right before the Atlantis expedition goes through the gate. One of the things I love best about SG-1/SGA crossovers is how the similar but not-quite-familiar characters reflect one another. I like the contrasts of Daniel, the experienced civilian, and Sheppard, the doubtful officer. Daniel's informality and Sheppard's insubordination. It's a short ficlet but Kellifer really captures the two of them, and that sense of passing on the torch.

Why this must be read:
Sam and Jack waited years to be together, so why isn't everything as they imagined it ? Angel Leviathan's story is a sweet yet very angsty look at the couple coming to terms with a real relationship now that the frat regs are gone. It is a beautifully written story that grabs the reader in from the first sentence and shoudn't be missed.

Why this Must be Read:

Another fic by Dream Weaver 85, I'm reccing this one for much the same reasons as the first.  This fic is set after Desperate Measures and again deals with the fallout of those events.  The truly awesome thing, though, it that Dream Weaver takes into account the events of her previous stories, and previous episodes, to compound the effect of Carter's kindnapping (as it should be).

Again it's wonderfully characterized, team-y, and although it's a Carter fic in many ways, everyone - from SG-1 to Janet - plays on important role.  It's long and emotional with angst and progress and all those great things you need in a meaty, non-action story.  It's untlimately highly satisfying because of the depth and realism - again, there are no easy answers.

Do yourself a favour and check this fic out!

Full-time volunteer [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has asked to step down from her position of tagger. I accepted, though I did so with a heavy heart. She has been with us from the day I first requested volunteers to help with the community. She's been doing the job for a few years now, and I can't say just how much she will be missed. It takes a lot of dedication to stick with a position as long as she has. I have truly been blessed with the quality of people who have been chosen to help maintain this community. It would not be what it is today without them.

That said, I am pleased to welcome [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] to our ranks of volunteers. Please welcome her aboard and make her feel at home. She starts officially... well... today. *g* Although there will be a bit of a transition period as she learns the ropes. She's eager to begin, and we're happy to have her with us.
