Why this must be read:  There are not enough wonderful things to say about this piece, written in Daniel's disjointed POV.  He's injured, he's snarky, he's floating in and out of consciousness, and he's the axis of this entire moment where SG-1 is under fire and running for the gate.  An episode usually dashes that scenario off in under thirty seconds, but minxy here gives us a wonderful reflection of the way the team supports each member in distress, and just how well they know each other.

Why this must be read:

When John Sheppard rides into Atlantis town looking for his cousin Laura Cadman, he finds himself involved in an old grudge: the Genii are back in town.

This is a great Wild West AU that involves most of the Atlantis crew to varying degrees. Mostly this is a great look at Teyla and how strong she is despite her less than fortunate position in society. John recognises that she is different from the beginning but is constantly surpised by her actions throughout the story. A good AU will also keep the characters personalities and just have them reacting to very different circumstances, which tielan successfully achieves here. And whilst its mostly a friendship piece, there is definitely a hint of something more at the end

Why This Must Be Read: I love 6's Daniel/Vala fics. The way she present the character is simply lovely. She can take the small, randomest situations and just make magic. Beautiful Daniel/Vala shaped magic and this fic is no different. Like the title hints at it's Daniel, Vala, and some Chinese food, which Vala has never had before, but you get so much more than that, you get Daniel, Vala, and a fun conversation that turns into a step forward for both of them. Just a lovely fic.
