Why This Must Be Read:

Natalia5345 never ceases to amaze me with the images she can create. Just by taking three lines from the episode "Bounty", she's written a situation that completely fits both Daniel and Vala. When you read this, it's almost as if it could be a scene directly from the show. 

We get to see a side of Daniel that we know is there, just beneath the surface. What would happen if Daniel had found out that Vala sneaked off with Cam's buddy, Darrell? Vala's reaction is nothing short of appropriate. A little angry frustration is never bad is it? ;)

Why This Must Be Read:

Because this is well-plotted, with great twists and turns, exciting, creepy and tense, and when I first read it I just couldn't stop even though it was way past my bedtime. Very vivid descriptions, they stayed in my mind for days after reading this story.

Teyla and Rodney are very true to themselves. And in such an intense story that's a feat in itself.

Even when re-reading and knowing what happens I'm still captivated by this story.

Why This Must Be Read:  Beautiful and haunting.  Sid captures Jack and Daniel's voices just perfectly.  

Set early in est. relationship.  Jack encounters a tragedy while off-world.  Daniel helps Jack deal with the aftermath both physically and emotionally.  The tag at the end will tug your heartstrings if nothing else does.  Plus there's a stealth educational moment regarding semen!  I have volunteered (and been hired) to help with any future research.  Grab a Kleenex and enjoy.

 

It was like the tears that had shone in Daniel’s eyes came rolling out of Jack’s. He wasn’t conscious of them until they fell, soaking Daniel’s shirt.

Why This Must Be Read:
This is an incredibly sweet first-time fic, written for the recent Fairy Tale Challenge at sga_flashfic. The basic idea is that Rodney gets a bracelet that can only be removed by his true love; John, of course, goes out of his way to make sure that doesn't happen. For the easily confused (like me), the 'remix' in the title is referencing that the story is a Pegasus Galaxy remix of a traditional fairy tale, not that it's a remix of another fandom fic. All of the character voices are spot-on, and their reactions are just perfect, ranging from adorable to (slightly) heartbreaking. As it's a fairy tale (and not one of the Brothers Grimm sort), you can imagine the ending, but the journey to it is delightful.

Also, the cover art, drawn by tardis80 and posted at the beginning of the fic, is absolutely adorable and just perfect for the story.
