Why This Must Be Read: The author warns for " Fluff. OH GOD SO MUCH FLUFF", but I'd say there is just exactly the right amount in this fic.  It's a "Five times Jack O'Neill asked out Sam Carter, and one time he didn't have to," but what really makes this fic are the various AUs she visits, each one carefully attuned to the slight character differences in each variation.  Basically this fic is fantastically written, wonderfully in character, and the perfect blend of humor and fluff to leave you with a giant smile on your face.  Go read now. Trust me. :)

Why This Must Be Read: An angst-filled fic featuring the rescue of Elizabeth from the Replicators, PB expertly weaves Elizabeth's hopes and fears into the story as she tries to remain aware of what is reality and what is manipulated fantasy. It tugs at the heartstrings, but Elizabeth's strength is at all times present. John's presence is also outstanding as well, watching him struggle with his own emotions through Elizabeth's eyes.

Why This Must Be Read:

I promised myself I wouldn't go all crazy with the Sheppard/McKay right off the bat but when I saw this one wasn't recced yet, I HAD to. So, why should this be read? Well, first there's the title. Next there's... well, as the author puts it, 'sex is all about technique. I mean, enthusiasm will only take you so far. It's a skill that takes practice, and if there's one thing Rodney McKay excels at, it's things he can practice.'

This story had been recced to me as exactly what it is: 'Rodney is apparently Atlantis's resident sex god, and John's finding out in the most hot embarrassing way possible,' to quote from the author again (with some added emphasis by yours truly). I'd been a bit dubious--I mean, Don Juan he ain't, right? But sardonicsmiley has a point: to a large extent, sex is just physics and practice--and what makes it all the more interesting is that everyone else is as dubious as we are. Seen through John's eyes, we're slowly persuaded just as he is. Add to this the fact that John's good looks and charm have pretty much assured him grateful bedpartners without much work on his part, and you've got a chance for Rodney to show him a thing or two. While the story is a lot about Rodney, it's really John's journey that shines through for me. That and the incredibly hot scenes. *fans self*
