Why This Must Be Read: This, along with a lot of other wonderful stories, was written for the 14valentines challenge. I love "day in the life" stories, showing what happens with the characters between adventures, and this is an excellent one. It's about John and sports, and everybody in Atlantis and sports, and Cameron Mitchell and sports, and John realizing there is something about Earth that he misses, and it's not soccer.

Why This Must Be Read: Non-Consensual Sex or Rape (and the fine line between the definitions) are not topics I venture into often unless it handled with a great deal of finesse, but Biblio is a master at crafting hurt and healing with the necessary dosage of believability. She keeps true to character as both Jack and Daniel deal, each their own way, with the what happened and the role it plays in the boys getting together.

P.S. I am going to attempt to keep H/C from becoming an extension of Jack/Daniel this month by trying matching each J/D rec with one from Atlantis, but they are my OTP...

Why This Must Be Read: It’s only fair to warn you that this story has no plot. It doesn’t pretend to have one, either. It’s just Jack and Sam and Teal’c and Daniel and Janet and Cassie, spending an afternoon together and having fun.

Set just after Singularity, Sealie gives us a delightfully fluffy team afternoon at Jack’s house. There’s the charm of Daniel and Teal’c exercising together, the team effort to make sure Cassie wins the soccer game (mostly by cheating on her behalf), Sam and Janet’s enjoyment of Teal’c in cycling shorts, Jack’s mastery of the barbecue, conversations about families and mint juleps, and lovely camaraderie. Happy Barbecuing isn’t a story; it’s a pleasant visit with the characters we know and love, and it’s one you’re sure to enjoy.
