Why This Must Be Read: This is just a fun, sweet little fic that explores Teyla's character and her relationship with John in a gentle and amusing light. And if I were going to 'Ship John/Teyla, this would be the piece that I would hold up as a lovely little example of the possibilites of this pairing.

Why this must be read: This piece is a very well-written exploration of Teyla's character through the nightmare of capture by the Wraith. In an interesting blend of nightmare, "reality," and flashback, we see Teyla and the conflicts of her soul. We get to see Teyla's strength as a warrior of course, but more than that, we see who she is when faced with all her worst nightmares and feelings. This is just an amazing character study and well worth the read!

Why This Must Be Read: I know there are hundreds of ep tags for Within the Serpent's Grasp / The Serpent's Lair, but this one is an excellent character study of Jack O'Neill!

Izhilzha jumps from one intense moment of the episode to the next, concentrating on those crucial moments when Jack was faced with awful choices or impossible decisions, and giving us a glimpse into the grim mindset that allowed him to keep going. It's bleak, and pragmatic, and narrowly focused… and quintessentially Jack.

In a military op, you can’t anticipate every situation. So they teach you one simple rule: Roll with the punches.
