Why this should be read: This is a 1969 inspired story. I probably should have warned you when I rec'ed "The Grandfather Paradox" that I might rec another one based on that episode. And I might still rec another, you never know. Anyway, this is just short bit of humor from Jacob's point of view as he's trying to get home and his car breaks down... The last line is perfect.

So sorry I waited so late to do my recs - many excuses, not worth your time reading them.  So let's skip that, and go straight to the recs.   This "month" my Genre theme is:  Quantum Mirror Universes in which there is a confusion of Jacks and Daniels. 

Parallax is the story of one Jack that has it all.  A happy, healthy family with wife Sara and son Charlie, and a devoted friend Daniel who might as well be part of the family (and who happens to be in love with Jack.)   They go to a Alternate Universe looking for technical help, and meet up with a Jack who's lost everything.  How the two deal with each other, and more importantly, how Daniel deals with the two of them, is what makes this fic work.

Jack knew it was a bad idea to have sex off world, he just wishes he'd realized there was a Quantum Mirror in the neighborhood before he got started.   And in the Sequel, Jack realizes that when they're both naked, he can't tell one Daniel from the other. 

I think that's enough said, right there.

i just absolutely love this fic. its funny cause it is such a typical "aliens made us do it" fic but at the same time its not. Its so cute and quirky and damn, its just hot. Daniel is so very daniel in this fic, with the questions and the curiosity, and jacks frustration is so well written. every once in a while we need a fun happy fic and this is it!

What makes Daniel so special?


Why This Must Be Read:

When Daniel falls victim to a deadly virus SG-1 is forced to face the possibility of losing him all over again. What makes it more difficult is that he was just recently returned to them and none of them, especially Jack O'Neill, are willing to give him up.

The story is full of emotion and drama. It's an excellant friendship fic that shows the strong connection between Jack and Daniel that has been missing since about mid-fourth season. It also ties up some of the loose ends remaining from the events of "Meridian". The story is compelling, emotional, intense and well worth reading. Enjoy!
