Why read it: Why am I reccing this when it's already been recced to the whole world so recently? Because it's that good. No, it's better. Because it deserves a permanent place in the Memories for this community. Because some of you won't have read it because you never read deathfics – I know; I usually don't, either. Because even if you never, ever read deathfics, you should read this one anyway. Really. Grab a kleenex; hell, grab the whole box. This fic opens with Jack's death, so it's a tear-jerker in a huge way. But it's also a devastatingly beautiful love story. Read it and weep. You'll be so very glad you did, and you'll never, ever forget this fic.

Why read it: Daniel Jackson and Sam Seaborn meet as young men in their early twenties and have a summer romance. Many years later, they meet again at the White House, this time in the company of their current partners. A love story. This fic isn't perfect, but nevertheless the images and feelings it evoked have stayed with me and I've come back and reread it twice, and there's so much about it that I really like that I'm happy to rec it here.
