Hey there, I’m Waldo. and I’m reccing angst this month. You’ll find that a lot of the stuff I rec could actually fit into many categories.

For example, this first one is slash, Jack/Daniel, angst, rape, hurt/comfort and others. But it’s way heavy on the angst, so I’m putting it here.

Okay, I know that as soon as I put beastiality in the warnings, most of you went running for the hills. Believe me, if I’d known what was coming in this story before I read it, I would have been running right next to you.

DON’T let that put you off this story if you really like the angst.

This is a story about Jack trying to get Daniel to see his worth, his importance in the universe, and as always, Daniel’s refusal to see himself as valuable. However, unlike most other times, if Daniel can’t see himself as worthy, it’s going to cost not only his soul, but the lives and souls of an entire village. Jack knows what’s going on, but can’t tell Daniel overtly, but he knows that he has to get Daniel to understand what’s going on in less than a week if he wants to save both his lover and the village.

Why This Must Be Read:

I haven't traditionally read many fanfics in the past, but let's just say the addiction is growing :) So forgive me if you've already read some of my rec's as I slowly work through the vast quantities of writings out there.

"Saving Grace" (by Charli Booker) has a fluid writing style with detailed descriptions of the events (so you aren't confused about what the heck is going on) and good characterizations of Daniel, Jack, Sam, and Teal'c that remain consistent with what we've seen on the show without going over the top or overemphasizing said characteristics.

A plot summary: Jack is injured offworld and while the rest of the team works to keep him stable so they can return home, he has an "interesting" encounter. To say more would spoil it, so without further ado....

Rec'cers Please Read!

Since we have several new rec'cers this month, I thought I'd put this post up on how to set up the recommendation.

In the subject line of your update, please put the title, the author's name, and the rating.

Under Rec Category, what I need is the category that you are rec'cing for January. This helps me put everything into the right category when I add it to the memories.

For example, if you're rec'cing Teal'c in January, when you get to the part that says Category: ALL you list there is Teal'c.
