Why this must be read:

What I like about this fic is how Rubygirl has just gotten these two. She has captured them as warriors who reach roadblocks and obstacles at times. And to overcome those obstacles, who better than another warrior, one who's been in those shoes? I think the appeal of John/Ronon is akin to the appeal of Jack/Teal'c in SG1 fandom. Two warriors coming together for support and brotherhood. Ruby has taken this idea a step further, in my humble opinion, to create an intense and incredible relationship.

Story Summary (1st line of fic): Ronon worries about Sheppard, who has never spent his anger.

When a wound was infected, it needed to be lanced to release the poisons. Healing wealas leaves needed to be beaten to make an effective salve, and Dr. Beckett had said that often broken bones healed stronger at the point of the break.

He reached for a bottle of water and drank deeply. What he needed to do wouldn’t be easy, and it could cost him Sheppard’s friendship ... possibly his place on Atlantis ... possibly more. The Wraith had repaired Sheppard’s body, but he hadn’t known how to restore a soul.

He sat in the growing darkness. Sheppard would come to the gym later in the day. He didn’t want observers, not even Ronon. However, there were mornings in the locker room when Ronon saw the shadows under Sheppard’s eyes and the bruises and scrapes on his knuckles, as if he had been trying to kill the heavy bag. It was unlike him. Sheppard relied on speed; his reflexes, his quick mind, his weapons, not on how hard he could hit.
