Why this must be read: I have a special place in my heart for fics that have both Jonas and Vala in them. And this one is simply lovely.

Jonas is so very weary of hiding he's desperate to find a safe habour and he spots what he believes is someone from Earth. She's not, but she might just be able to help him anyway.


He watched the woman with long black hair arguing with the bar tender. She was loud, abrasive, and doing it seemingly on purpose. He felt the corners of his mouth twitch up as the bartender was overwhelmed by her frontal assault. Her companion, a warrior hidden beneath a cloak, yanked on her arm and pulled her towards the door. The smile left his face as he caught sight of the clip holding her hair in place. He recognized the smiling little cartoon cat – Hello Kitty if his memory was right. They were from Earth.
