Why this must be read: South Pier gives a glimpse into an established McKay/Sheppard/Beckett relationship through the expedition's pressuring Elizabeth to allow both relocations to larger quarters, and a relaxation of a 'no fraternization' policy. Though brief, this fic captures Rodney, John and Carson's relationship, Carson's insecurity, and even an interesting take on Elizabeth with crisp brevity. Though I usually look for a longer fic, I feel that Cassie captures her concept beautifully enough that nothing seems to be missing by the lack of length. A great quick read!
