Why This Must Be Read: In the world of fanfic, whether het or slash, the relationships within are explored at a level of convention that is rarely crossed; either due to mindset or experience. This story does not listen to nor observe the readers typical ideas of a normal relationship and it will give you something to think about; how we approach our hearts and the ones we allow inside. We watch as Cameron flails and fails and falls all the while attempting to hold together SG-1 and mainly Danielle Jackson. Their relationship is harsh, biting and digs into your skin; immersing you into their world as they find love in it's purest form. You will ache as Cam becomes a lifeline even while drowning and drowning out the voices of reason in Sam and Teal'c. This story is not dark, it's real and it hurts and it will make you hold your breath as Cameron and Dani learn to give more of themselves than they had any reason to believe. I really can't put into words all of the reasons why you need to read this story.

Snippet:
Neither of them finishes their beer: a few minutes later she gets up and walks off to his bedroom without another word. When he gets his brain in gear enough to follow her there, she's already starting to undress. The bruises are all gone. They've been lucky lately. There's nothing seductive about the way she undresses: it's obvious that her point is just to get her clothes off. But once she has, she walks back over to him, and it's equally clear that she expects him to kiss her.
There's something just a little perverse, Cam thinks, about touching Jackson at all. Leaving aside the whole thorny question of what might-or-might-not be sexual harassment in Today's Air Force, he's never been afraid to touch Sam. Clap her on the shoulder, take her by the arm. Even pat her on the head to tease her, because they're teammates now, and old friends from back well before he was flying 302s and thought the most Top Secret thing Sam Carter did was build them. Doing the same things with (to) Jackson - even after they'd had sex - is something Cam just can't imagine. It gives having her naked in his arms a certain extra zing that he can't quite decide whether he likes or not. Whatever touch-me-not rules she has, though, they seem to come off with her clothes, and eventually he stops worrying about it. Even more eventually, he decides that getting naked would be a damned good idea.
