Why read it: Why am I reccing this when it's already been recced to the whole world so recently? Because it's that good. No, it's better. Because it deserves a permanent place in the Memories for this community. Because some of you won't have read it because you never read deathfics – I know; I usually don't, either. Because even if you never, ever read deathfics, you should read this one anyway. Really. Grab a kleenex; hell, grab the whole box. This fic opens with Jack's death, so it's a tear-jerker in a huge way. But it's also a devastatingly beautiful love story. Read it and weep. You'll be so very glad you did, and you'll never, ever forget this fic.

When I started reading J/D stories a year ago I stumbled over this beauty by shear accident. I wasn't really comfortable reading a story where my fav character dies but I'm glad I jumped over my shadow. This story will always be one of my favorites and when I've gathered enough tissues again I'll read it again... and again... and again. But beware... don't read it at work, it will definitely get you into trouble...
