Why This Must Be Read:Don't let the character death put you off, this is a happy ending fic. In it, Sam does die...and remains behind as a ghost. Now it's an idea that's been done a lot, but this was one of the first examples.
What I enjoyed was that Sam confronted, more than once, leaving them and going 'away', yet still stayed behind, largely because her friends weren't quite ready to let her go yet. And, through a plot twist, it is revealed that those very same friendships are what allows the happy ending.
It may be a little sappy for some, but at its core it's a nice story of the undying - pun intended - power of the friendship of these folks. and we have the bonus of Sam actually rescuing herself in a way.

Hi there. You reccing this reminds me of a fic I was looking for (http://community.livejournal.com/sam_and_jack/216227.html) and I was wondering if you knew it. The fic I'm looking for it very similar to Angels, Ghosts and Goodbyes, but I'm almost certain that it isn't the one I'm looking for. I can't remember why> it's not this one, but when I made the post asking for help, I re-read this fic. I thought it was the right one up until a specific event. God only knows what it was, but I suspect that it was soemthing to do with the way the Ghost aspect was handled.

There was a couple of other fics mentioned in the post I linked to, but it's none of them. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
