Summary: In an epilogue to "Point of View", Sam tries to figure out her place in the universe while Jack deals with a worse-for-wear Daniel.
Why read it: This is Sam figuring out just why she couldn't, or doesn't, or won't let herself, feel more for Jack than she's supposed to. This is Sam figuring out what is important to her, why she is the way she is. What she has that all those AU Sam Carters never had. (Hint: It's not free access to Jack's pants.) I can really feel Sam's confusion here, and her determination to make things make sense.
The hurt/comfort may be a bit much for some readers, but it really worked for me -- it's not too overdone, IMO. Even though I'm an obsessive slasher, I can't read Jack and Daniel as sharing anything but platonic friendship.
Go read "Of This and Other Worlds".
